I believe that your health is your most precious asset. Making lasting lifestyle changes requires commitment, trust, courage, and support. As a result, it is essential that you find a health coach who you feel connected to, who has the skills to help you meet your goals, and who you can trust to help you improve your health. I am honored when a client chooses me to guide and support them on their journey.
In my experience, the health coaching process is most effective when it is collaborative. It doesn’t work if I set goals for you. It is important for me to learn about your health history, current health risks, and what has and hasn’t worked for you in past attempts at reaching your goals. As a health coach, my job is to support you and enhance your motivation to make lifestyle changes while educating you about sound principles related to nutrition, exercise, injury prevention, and illness.
I bring more than 15 years of clinical experience as a health care provider to my practice in addition to a solid science and psychology-based education. And I always strive to provide an approach that is practical, compassionate, and nonjudgmental.
Initial Meeting
Some health coaches sell package deals. I choose to work with clients on a per session basis. So instead of asking you to make a long-term financial and time commitment upfront, I recommend scheduling an appointment with me for an initial assessment so that you can determine whether I am the right health coach for you. After the initial assessment, if you would like to continue working together, I will recommend a number and frequency of sessions along with a general outline of the specialized services that I can offer you to help you meet your personal health goals.
If, after learning more about your health history and/or health goals, I determine that it would be more appropriate for me to work with you as a health care provider/occupational therapist, I am happy to discuss my Lifestyle OT services with you. If I determine that the services that would best help you are outside of my area of expertise, I am happy to recommend a more appropriate health care provider.
Ongoing Sessions
Once we’ve developed a plan, each session will work toward helping you meet your goals. Depending on the focus of an individual session, we may meet at my clinical office, a community location like a grocery store, or at your home.
