Blue Water Ergonomics is Now Blue Water Holistic Health!
/It’s hard to believe, but it’s been almost 10 years since I went in to private practice and started Blue Water Ergonomics. Running my own business has been a great challenge and learning experience. It has also really helped me to grow as a health care provider and has allowed me to achieve a better work-life balance.
But after so many years of working as an occupational therapist in the same specialty area, I was starting to feel like I needed to learn some new skills. It’s common for therapists to work in more than one practice area throughout their career. I haven’t felt drawn to a different area of therapy, but I kept feeling like I wanted to offer my patients a more holistic approach to treating their health issues. It’s incredibly satisfying when a client’s pain and discomfort are alleviated by an ergonomic modification, but I was starting to see more clients where the solution to their issues wasn't quite that simple and straightforward.
Due to a combination of personal health issues and professional curiosity, I have developed an interest in the connection between nutrition, lifestyle choices, and pain. Proper ergonomics definitely fits in to this topic too, but on its own, it can't make up for an unhealthy lifestyle. I am able to better help my clients when I can approach their health issues from a more holistic perspective.
I've spent the last few years learning from many of the leaders in the field of holistic health and wellness and the last few months completely rethinking what services will best help my clients and how to deliver them most effectively. It seemed necessary to change the name of my business, to better reflect the scope of services that I now offer my clients.
What has not changed is this: I remain committed to providing my clients with a client-centered and science-based approach to help them improve their health and manage their pain. I remain an independent practitioner with a focus on prevention, compassion, and providing practical and cost-effective solutions. I will continue to remain Seattle-based, but some of my services can also be provided remotely, so please share this post with anyone who would like to live a healthier life!
I’m excited to use this blog to provide education and share resources related to healthy lifestyle choices, pain management, and ergonomics. The best way to ensure that you don’t miss anything is to sign up for the email list. I won’t share your information with anyone else, and you will receive emails approximately twice a month from me.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post, and welcome to the new Blue Water Holistic Health!
